About the Role
Our client is seeking an accomplished Senior Transportation Engineer to join their esteemed consultancy in Bristol . This role is essential for shaping the future of mobility and connectivity, focusing on the planning, design, and implementation of transportation infrastructure projects. You will lead significant projects, from traffic modeling and network analysis to the design of roads and public transport systems, contributing to sustainable urban development. This position offers a hybrid working arrangement, combining remote flexibility with necessary site visits and client meetings.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the planning and design of transportation infrastructure, including highways, public transport, and active travel schemes.
- Perform traffic modeling, demand forecasting, and network analysis using industry-standard software.
- Develop Transport Assessments, Travel Plans, and Environmental Impact Assessments.
- Manage project teams and liaise with clients, local authorities, and stakeholders throughout project lifecycles.
- Ensure designs comply with relevant national and local transportation policies and standards.
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers.
Requirements
- Degree in Civil Engineering, Transportation Engineering, or a related field.
- Significant experience (7+ years) in transportation engineering, with a strong portfolio of completed projects.
- Proficiency in traffic modeling software (e.g., PTV Vissim, Transyt, Junctions 9).
- Strong understanding of highway design principles, traffic management, and public transport planning.
- Excellent analytical, report writing, and presentation skills.
- Experience with the planning and development process in the South West England region is advantageous.
