About the Role
Our client is recruiting a Senior Transportation Engineer to join their prestigious team in Edinburgh . This role will involve leading the planning, design, and implementation of complex transportation infrastructure projects, including roads, highways, and public transport networks. You will be responsible for ensuring that projects are delivered efficiently, safely, and sustainably, meeting the evolving needs of communities. Key Responsibilities
- Lead the design and development of transportation infrastructure projects, including highway design, traffic management, and junction improvements.
- Conduct traffic modeling and analysis to predict future demand and assess network performance.
- Prepare technical reports, feasibility studies, and environmental impact assessments.
- Manage project teams, ensuring adherence to project timelines, budgets, and quality standards.
- Liaise with clients, government agencies, and other stakeholders to secure approvals and facilitate project delivery.
- Develop and promote sustainable transport solutions , including active travel and public transport integration.
Requirements
- Degree in Civil Engineering or a related transportation discipline.
- Significant experience (7+ years) in transportation engineering and project management.
- Proficiency in transportation design software such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and traffic modeling software (e.g., VISSIM, SIDRA).
- Strong understanding of traffic engineering principles , road safety, and geometric design.
- Experience with public consultation and stakeholder engagement.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and analytical skills.
