Senior Transportation Engineer

About the Role

Our client is seeking an experienced Senior Transportation Engineer to join their fully remote team, contributing to exciting projects across Scotland and the UK . This role focuses on developing innovative and sustainable transportation solutions, from strategic planning to detailed design of road networks, public transport systems, and active travel infrastructure. You will play a key part in shaping how people move, working collaboratively with clients and stakeholders from a remote base, ensuring efficiency, safety, and environmental consciousness in all transport planning and design initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

• Undertake transport planning studies, traffic impact assessments, and feasibility analyses for various development projects.
• Design and specify road layouts, junction improvements, pedestrian and cycle facilities, and public transport infrastructure.
• Utilize advanced transportation modeling software for network analysis and demand forecasting.
• Prepare comprehensive reports, presentations, and design documentation for clients and regulatory bodies.
• Collaborate effectively with multi-disciplinary teams, including urban planners, civil engineers, and environmental consultants, in a remote setting.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior transportation engineers.

Requirements

• Degree in Civil Engineering, Transport Planning, or a related field.
• Minimum of 7 years of professional experience in transportation engineering.
• Proven experience in transport planning and infrastructure design in the UK .
• Proficiency with transportation modeling software such as Paramics , VISSIM , or SATURN .
• Strong understanding of UK transport policy, design standards, and planning processes.
• Excellent analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills, adapted for remote work.
