About the Role

Our client is looking for a highly experienced and visionary Senior Urban Designer to join their established, fully remote team. This crucial role will involve leading the conceptualisation and strategic development of significant urban regeneration projects and masterplans across the UK . You will be instrumental in shaping sustainable, vibrant, and liveable urban environments, working collaboratively with diverse stakeholders in a virtual capacity. Key Responsibilities

• Lead the design and development of masterplans and urban design frameworks for large-scale projects.
• Conduct site analyses, feasibility studies, and strategic planning for urban regeneration initiatives.
• Engage with clients, local authorities, community groups, and other stakeholders to build consensus and achieve design objectives.
• Prepare high-quality design documentation, including visualisations, reports, and presentations.
• Ensure designs are contextually sensitive, sustainable, and contribute positively to the urban realm.
• Mentor junior members of the urban design team, fostering best practices and design innovation in a remote setting.

Requirements

• A recognised professional qualification in Urban Design, Architecture, Planning, or a related discipline.
• Significant experience (7+ years) in urban design, with a proven track record of leading major projects.
• Expertise in masterplanning , spatial analysis, and sustainable urban development principles.
• Proficiency in relevant design software such as AutoCAD, SketchUp , Adobe Creative Suite, and GIS.
• Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills, adapted for remote collaboration.
• A deep understanding of UK planning policy and the development process.
