About the Role
Our client is seeking a dynamic and experienced Senior Urban Designer to contribute to transformative regeneration projects across Scotland, based in their Edinburgh office. You will play a key role in shaping sustainable, vibrant, and inclusive urban environments, working on strategic masterplans and design frameworks. This position requires a deep understanding of urban planning principles, spatial design, and community engagement. You will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of planners, architects, and engineers to deliver high-quality urban design outcomes that positively impact communities in Scotland .
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and lead the creation of strategic masterplans, design codes, and development frameworks for complex urban sites.
- Conduct urban analysis, site assessments, and feasibility studies to inform design strategies.
- Engage with stakeholders, local authorities, and community groups to gather input and build consensus.
- Prepare high-quality design documentation, including reports, visualizations, and presentations.
- Ensure designs align with sustainability goals, placemaking principles, and relevant planning policies.
Requirements
- A relevant degree in Urban Design, Planning, Architecture, or a related field.
- Minimum of 6 years' experience in urban design, masterplanning, or related fields.
- Proficiency in design software such as AutoCAD , SketchUp , Adobe Creative Suite, and GIS.
- Strong understanding of urban planning policy, sustainability frameworks, and public realm design.
- Excellent analytical, communication, and presentation skills.
