About the Role
Our client is seeking an accomplished Senior Urban Designer to join their strategic team in Oxford . This role involves shaping the future development of urban environments through high-quality design, policy integration, and community engagement. You will lead complex masterplanning and urban design projects, fostering sustainable, vibrant, and inclusive places. This position is ideal for a forward-thinking designer with a proven track record in urban regeneration, strategic planning, and place-making, contributing to the distinctive urban fabric of Oxfordshire and beyond.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the design and development of strategic masterplans and urban design frameworks.
- Conduct spatial analysis, site assessments, and feasibility studies for urban development projects.
- Engage with stakeholders, including local authorities, developers, and communities, to build consensus.
- Develop design guidelines, policy recommendations, and visualisations to support planning applications.
- Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams, including architects, landscape architects, and transport planners.
- Champion sustainable urban design principles and innovative placemaking strategies.
Requirements
- Degree in Urban Planning, Architecture, Landscape Architecture, or a related discipline.
- Minimum of 7 years of professional experience in urban design and masterplanning.
- Proven ability to lead complex urban design projects from concept to implementation.
- Strong understanding of planning policy, development economics, and sustainability frameworks.
- Proficiency in relevant design and visualisation software (e.g., AutoCAD, GIS, Adobe Creative Suite).
- Excellent communication, presentation, and facilitation skills.
