About the Role

Our client is seeking a visionary Senior Urban Designer for a fully remote position, to lead transformative urban development projects. This role is crucial for shaping sustainable, vibrant, and inclusive communities through thoughtful placemaking and strategic design. You will be responsible for developing masterplans, design guidelines, and strategic frameworks that guide the physical evolution of towns and cities. Working remotely, you will collaborate with a diverse range of clients, including local authorities, developers, and community groups, to create inspiring urban environments. Key Responsibilities

• Develop comprehensive masterplans and strategic design frameworks for urban regeneration and development projects.
• Create high-quality design proposals, visualizations, and design guidance documents.
• Engage with stakeholders, including local authorities, developers, and community representatives, to build consensus and support for design initiatives.
• Analyze urban contexts, identifying opportunities and constraints for development and intervention.
• Ensure designs promote sustainability , social equity, and economic viability.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including architects, landscape architects, and transport planners, in a virtual environment.

Requirements

• A postgraduate degree in Urban Design, Urban Planning, Architecture, or a related field.
• Minimum of 7 years of professional experience in urban design and masterplanning.
• A strong portfolio demonstrating successful urban design projects and a clear design philosophy.
• Proficiency in relevant design software (e.g., AutoCAD, SketchUp , Adobe Creative Suite, GIS).
• Excellent understanding of planning policy, sustainable development principles, and public realm design.
• Exceptional communication, presentation, and stakeholder engagement skills, adaptable to remote interaction.
