Senior VFX Artist

About the Role

Our client, a cutting-edge studio in the Arts & Entertainment sector, is seeking a talented Senior VFX Artist to join their team in Belfast . This role is crucial for bringing visually stunning effects to life for our diverse range of interactive and cinematic projects. You will be responsible for creating high-quality visual effects, from explosions and magical spells to environmental phenomena, ensuring they are seamlessly integrated into the game or film. Working within a collaborative environment in Belfast , you will leverage your expertise to push the boundaries of visual fidelity and immersion.

Key Responsibilities

• Create and implement stunning real-time visual effects (VFX) for games and/or high-quality pre-rendered VFX for film/animation.
• Work closely with the art director and technical directors to define the visual style and technical requirements for VFX.
• Develop particle systems, shaders, and simulations to achieve desired aesthetic and performance targets.
• Optimize VFX assets for performance, ensuring they run efficiently on target platforms.
• Collaborate with animators, level designers, and engineers to integrate VFX effectively into the final product.
• Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to VFX implementation and performance.

Requirements

• 5+ years of professional experience as a VFX Artist in the gaming or film industry.
• Strong portfolio demonstrating a wide range of VFX creation skills (e.g., explosions, magic, destruction, environmental effects).
• Proficiency in particle editing tools and engines (e.g., Niagara, Unity VFX Graph, Houdini).
• Experience with 3D modeling, texturing, and animation software (e.g., Maya, 3ds Max, Substance Painter).
• Understanding of shader creation and optimization techniques.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced production environment.
