Senior VFX Artist

About the Role

Our client is seeking a talented and dedicated Senior VFX Artist to join their thriving studio in Sunderland . You will be instrumental in creating stunning visual effects for high-end gaming titles and interactive media. This role demands a keen eye for detail, a mastery of visual effects software, and the ability to collaborate effectively with a multidisciplinary team. You will push the boundaries of visual fidelity, bringing dynamic and believable effects to life, and contribute significantly to the overall aesthetic and immersive quality of our client's projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, create, and implement high-quality visual effects (VFX) such as explosions, fire, smoke, magic, and environmental effects.
• Utilize particle systems, shaders, and animation tools to craft visually compelling and technically efficient effects.
• Collaborate closely with game designers, technical artists, and art directors to integrate VFX seamlessly into the game engine.
• Optimize VFX performance to ensure smooth frame rates and maintain technical requirements.
• Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to VFX implementation and rendering.
• Mentor junior VFX artists, providing guidance and feedback to enhance their skills and contributions.

Requirements

• Minimum of 5 years of professional experience as a VFX Artist in the video game or animation industry.
• Proficiency in industry-standard VFX software such as Houdini, Maya, 3ds Max, and Adobe After Effects.
• Strong understanding of real-time VFX creation within game engines like Unreal Engine or Unity.
• Expertise in particle systems, shader development, and simulation techniques.
• Excellent artistic eye for composition, timing, colour, and visual storytelling.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team in Sunderland .
