Senior VFX Artist

About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly skilled and creative Senior VFX Artist to join their innovative team in Belfast . You will be responsible for the creation of stunning visual effects that enhance the visual fidelity and impact of their entertainment products. This role requires a deep understanding of particle systems, simulations, and shader development to bring dynamic and believable effects to life, such as explosions, magic, and environmental phenomena. You will collaborate closely with game designers, technical artists, and other art teams to ensure seamless integration of VFX within the game engine, pushing the boundaries of visual storytelling. Key Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and optimize a wide range of visual effects for real-time applications.
• Utilize particle systems, shader graph editors, and simulation tools to create compelling visual elements.
• Collaborate with game designers and art directors to define the aesthetic and technical requirements for VFX.
• Ensure VFX are performant and integrated efficiently into the game engine, meeting memory and frame rate budgets.
• Develop and maintain VFX assets, including textures, materials, and effects graphs.
• Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to VFX implementation.

Requirements

• Minimum of 5 years of experience as a VFX Artist in the game development industry.
• Proficiency in industry-standard game engines like Unreal Engine or Unity.
• Strong understanding of particle simulation techniques and shader creation.
• Experience with visual effects software such as Houdini, Maya, or After Effects.
• A strong portfolio showcasing high-quality real-time VFX work.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work effectively in a collaborative environment.
