About the Role

Our client is seeking a talented and experienced Senior Visual Effects Artist to join their innovative studio in Edinburgh . This position involves leading VFX sequences, collaborating with directors and technical teams, and mentoring junior artists. Key Responsibilities

• Design and execute complex visual effects for film, television, or games, meeting project requirements and deadlines.
• Collaborate closely with directors, art directors, and other department leads to achieve the desired aesthetic and technical outcomes.
• Lead and mentor junior VFX artists , providing guidance on techniques and workflows.
• Develop and implement custom tools and shaders to enhance the VFX pipeline.
• Troubleshoot and solve technical challenges related to VFX production .
• Stay current with emerging VFX technologies and industry best practices.

Requirements

• Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in visual effects artistry , with a strong portfolio showcasing high-quality work.
• Proficiency in industry-standard VFX software such as Maya, Houdini, Nuke, and After Effects.
• Strong understanding of particle systems, simulations (e.g., fluid, fire, smoke), compositing, and rendering.
• Experience with scripting languages (e.g., Python) for tool development is a plus.
• Excellent artistic eye, attention to detail, and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet tight deadlines in a collaborative team environment.
