Senior Wind Turbine Technician - Offshore

About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Wind Turbine Technician to join their offshore wind operations team based near Belfast . This role is critical for the maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of wind turbines in challenging offshore environments, ensuring optimal performance and energy output. You will be responsible for leading a team of technicians, adhering to strict safety protocols, and utilising advanced diagnostic tools to maintain the integrity of the wind farm infrastructure. This is a hands-on position for an individual dedicated to the renewable energy sector and committed to operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform routine and complex maintenance, inspections, and repairs on offshore wind turbines and associated electrical and mechanical systems.
• Lead and mentor a team of wind turbine technicians, ensuring efficient task completion and adherence to safety procedures.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot faults using advanced diagnostic equipment and technical documentation.
• Conduct pre-commissioning, commissioning, and performance testing of turbine components.
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, parts usage, and turbine performance data.
• Ensure strict adherence to all health and safety regulations , including working at height and in marine environments.

Requirements

• Recognised technical qualification (e.g., HNC, NVQ Level 3) in Electrical, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Minimum of 5 years' experience as a wind turbine technician, with specific experience in offshore environments .
• Proven ability to lead and supervise technical teams effectively.
• Proficiency in mechanical and electrical fault finding and repair on large-scale turbines.
• GWO Basic Safety Training, Working at Heights, and First Aid certifications are essential.
