About the Role

Our client, a significant operator in the renewable energy sector , is seeking a dedicated and experienced Senior Wind Turbine Technician for their sites near Leeds . This hands-on role is crucial for maintaining and optimizing the performance of wind turbine assets, ensuring maximum energy output and operational reliability. You will be responsible for complex diagnostics, repairs, and preventative maintenance, working at heights and often in challenging weather conditions. Key Responsibilities

• Perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on wind turbines, including mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot complex turbine faults, utilizing advanced diagnostic tools and software.
• Conduct thorough inspections and preventative maintenance to ensure operational safety and efficiency.
• Complete all maintenance and repair activities safely, adhering to strict health and safety protocols, including working at heights .
• Generate detailed reports on turbine performance, maintenance activities, and any identified issues.
• Mentor and guide junior technicians, sharing knowledge and best practices.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Wind Turbine Technician or in a similar heavy mechanical/electrical maintenance role.
• Strong understanding of wind turbine systems, including gearboxes, generators, control systems, and pitch systems.
• Experience with High Voltage (HV) systems and working within their safety procedures.
• Relevant technical qualifications (e.g., NVQ Level 3 in Wind Turbine Technology or equivalent).
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team in remote or challenging environments.
• Valid GWO Basic Safety Training certificates are essential.
