Senior Wind Turbine Technician

About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly skilled Senior Wind Turbine Technician to join their growing operations team, primarily based in or near Leeds . This role involves performing complex maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair operations on wind turbines, ensuring optimal performance and safety standards are met. You will also play a key role in mentoring junior technicians and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives within the maintenance department. This position offers a blend of hands-on field work and strategic input, supporting the vital renewable energy infrastructure in the region.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct routine and complex preventative maintenance on wind turbine components , including mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
• Diagnose and repair faults, troubleshoot complex issues, and implement corrective actions efficiently.
• Operate specialized diagnostic equipment and perform in-depth inspections .
• Supervise and mentor junior technicians, providing technical guidance and support.
• Maintain accurate records of all maintenance activities, safety checks, and repairs in the company's systems.

Requirements

• NVQ Level 3 or equivalent qualification in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering/Technician discipline.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Wind Turbine Technician, with proven experience on various turbine models.
• Strong understanding of electrical systems , mechanical components, and hydraulic power systems.
• Proficiency in using diagnostic tools and software for turbine performance analysis.
• Ability to work at heights and in challenging weather conditions, with a strong commitment to health and safety.
