Senior Wind Turbine Technician

About the Role

Our client is seeking a skilled and safety-conscious Senior Wind Turbine Technician to join their dynamic operations and maintenance team in Leeds . You will be responsible for the inspection, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of wind turbines, ensuring optimal performance and longevity of assets. This role requires a proactive approach to problem-solving and a commitment to upholding the highest safety standards in a challenging, hands-on environment. You will play a key part in ensuring the reliable generation of clean energy from wind farms.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform scheduled preventative maintenance, inspections, and diagnostic testing on wind turbine components, including mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
• Troubleshoot and repair turbine faults and failures, utilizing specialized tools and diagnostic equipment.
• Interpret technical manuals, schematics, and engineering drawings to effectively perform maintenance and repairs.
• Adhere strictly to all company safety policies and procedures, including working at heights and in confined spaces.
• Respond to turbine alarms and perform emergency repairs as needed to minimize downtime.
• Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior technicians on the team.

Requirements

• NVQ Level 3 or equivalent qualification in a relevant engineering discipline (e.g., Electrical, Mechanical).
• Minimum of 5 years of experience working as a wind turbine technician, preferably with large-scale turbines.
• Proven ability to diagnose and resolve complex mechanical and electrical issues.
• Strong understanding of wind turbine systems and safety protocols.
• Ability to work effectively at heights and in challenging weather conditions.
