About the Role
Our client is actively recruiting a skilled Service Engineer - Mechanical Systems to deliver expert on-site support for their clients in and around Wolverhampton, West Midlands . This role demands a hands-on approach to installing, maintaining, and repairing complex mechanical systems. You will be the primary point of contact for clients requiring technical assistance, diagnosing issues, and implementing solutions to ensure optimal system performance and longevity. This position is vital for maintaining client satisfaction and upholding the company's reputation for reliable service within the Wolverhampton industrial landscape, requiring significant travel within the region.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, commission, and service a range of mechanical equipment and systems at client premises.
- Perform routine maintenance, inspections, and preventative servicing to ensure equipment reliability.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical failures, providing timely and effective repair solutions.
- Respond to emergency service calls and provide on-site support to minimize operational disruption.
- Maintain detailed service logs, including parts usage and labour hours.
- Advise clients on system operation, maintenance best practices, and potential upgrades.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Service Engineer or in a similar field-based installation and maintenance role.
- Strong mechanical engineering background with expertise in diagnosing and repairing complex machinery.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings, schematics, and manuals accurately.
- Excellent problem-solving capabilities and a proactive approach to identifying potential issues.
- Strong customer-facing skills and the ability to build rapport with clients.
- A full UK driving license is mandatory for extensive travel.
