Service Engineer

Location: Barnsley, South Yorkshire 💰 Salary: £30,000 – £35,000 DOE ⏰ Hours: Monday – Thursday 7:30am – 4:00pm | Friday 7:30am – 3:30pm 📄 Job Type: Permanent, Full-Time

The Role

We are recruiting for an experienced Lifting Equipment Engineer to join a well-established and growing business specialising in lifting and handling equipment.

The successful candidate will be responsible for inspecting, servicing and repairing a wide range of lifting equipment, both on-site and within the company's workshop.

Duties of a Lifting Equipment Engineer

Carry out LOLER inspections on a variety of lifting and handling equipment.

*

Inspect, service and repair chains, slings, shackles, hoists, lifting beams and runway beams.

*

Identify faults, defects and potential safety hazards.

*

Ensure all equipment complies with LOLER, PUWER and relevant safety legislation.

*

Complete inspection reports and maintain accurate records.

*

Carry out both on-site and workshop-based inspections and repairs.

The Ideal Lifting Equipment Engineer

*

Previous experience inspecting, servicing or repairing lifting equipment.

*

Good knowledge of LOLER and PUWER regulations.

*

Experience working with chains, slings, shackles, manual/powered hoists and lifting beams.

*

Full UK Driving Licence essential.

*

Flexible approach to overtime, including occasional Saturdays.
