Sheet Metal Foreman

We’re looking for a Sheet Metal Foreman to join a specialist engineering business in Hyde.

This is a hands-on role suited to someone with strong sheet metal fabrication experience and the confidence to supervise others, as around 90% of your time will still be spent working on the tools, with the remaining time focused on organising workflow, allocating jobs and supporting the wider team.

• Mon – Fri | 7:30am – 4:45pm

• Early finish on Thursdays and Fridays

What will you be doing as a Sheet Metal Foreman?

• Carrying out hands-on sheet metal fabrication for the majority of the working week

• Producing high-quality work where finish and appearance are particularly important

• Allocating jobs and organising daily workflow across the shop floor

• Supervising and supporting other members of the fabrication team

• Taking part in production meetings

• Helping ensure work is completed efficiently and to the required standard

• Supporting the training and development of an apprentice

• Balancing production pace with the care and attention needed for more detailed work

What will you need?

• Strong previous sheet metal fabrication experience

• Previous experience supervising or leading others

• Ability to organise workloads and prioritise jobs

• Confidence working at pace while maintaining a high standard of finish

• A hands-on approach and willingness to remain heavily involved in fabrication work
