Site Civil Engineer - Construction Oversight

About the Role

Our client is seeking a diligent and experienced Site Civil Engineer to oversee civil engineering works on various construction projects, operating in a fully remote capacity with site visits as required. This role is crucial for ensuring that all civil engineering aspects of construction projects are executed to the highest standards of quality, safety, and efficiency. You will be the primary technical point of contact on-site for civil works, liaising with contractors, managing site operations, and ensuring compliance with design specifications and project timelines. This is a critical role for maintaining project integrity from a distance.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise and manage all on-site civil engineering activities, including earthworks, foundations, drainage, and road construction.
• Interpret civil engineering drawings, specifications, and method statements, ensuring adherence during construction.
• Conduct regular site inspections to monitor progress, quality, and safety compliance, documenting findings and issuing reports.
• Manage relationships with subcontractors and suppliers, ensuring timely delivery of materials and services.
• Identify and resolve technical issues that arise on site, coordinating with the design team as necessary.
• Maintain accurate site records, including daily logs, progress reports, and materials certifications.

Requirements

• Degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent qualification.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in civil engineering construction and site supervision.
• Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and site safety regulations.
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting engineering drawings and technical specifications.
• Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage remote teams effectively.
• Familiarity with project management software and remote collaboration tools.
