Site Civil Engineer - Construction

About the Role

Our client is seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Site Civil Engineer to oversee construction activities for various projects in and around Leeds . This role is crucial for ensuring that all civil engineering works on site are executed safely, efficiently, and in strict accordance with design specifications and quality standards. You will act as the primary technical point of contact on-site, liaising with contractors, project managers, and the design team to overcome challenges and drive project delivery. Key Responsibilities

• Supervise and manage all on-site civil engineering operations, ensuring adherence to project plans and schedules.
• Conduct regular site inspections to monitor progress, quality, and safety compliance, identifying and resolving any deviations.
• Interpret engineering drawings and specifications, providing clear guidance to construction teams and subcontractors.
• Liaise with the design team to address site queries, propose solutions to unforeseen issues, and implement design modifications when necessary.
• Maintain accurate site records, including daily reports, progress logs, and material certifications.
• Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations and environmental policies on the construction site.

Requirements

• Degree in Civil Engineering or a related construction management qualification.
• Proven experience as a Site Engineer or Civil Engineer on construction projects.
• Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and health and safety legislation.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications.
• Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make sound decisions under pressure.
• Experience with setting out and surveying equipment is advantageous.
