About the Role
Our client is seeking a hands-on Site Civil Engineer to join their construction team in Liverpool, Merseyside, UK . This role is integral to the successful execution of on-site civil engineering works, ensuring that projects are completed safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards. You will be responsible for supervising site operations, managing construction activities, and ensuring adherence to design specifications and project schedules. The ideal candidate will have a strong practical understanding of construction processes and a keen eye for detail, working closely with site management and subcontractors to deliver successful project outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and manage day-to-day site operations for civil engineering works.
- Ensure all construction activities comply with health and safety regulations and site-specific safety plans.
- Interpret construction drawings and specifications, ensuring work is executed according to plan.
- Monitor progress, quality, and resource allocation on site, reporting on key metrics.
- Coordinate with subcontractors and suppliers to ensure timely delivery of materials and services.
- Conduct site inspections and quality checks, documenting any deviations or issues.
Requirements
- Degree in Civil Engineering or a related construction management qualification.
- Previous experience as a Site Engineer or in a similar site-based role.
- Solid understanding of construction methods and materials used in civil engineering.
- Knowledge of health and safety legislation pertinent to construction sites.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications effectively.
- Good communication and leadership skills for managing site teams.
