Site Civil Engineer

About the Role

Our client requires a practical and diligent Site Civil Engineer to oversee the construction of key infrastructure projects in the Reading area. This hands-on role involves ensuring that civil engineering works are executed safely, efficiently, and to the required technical specifications on-site. You will be the primary technical point of contact for contractors, resolving site issues and ensuring quality control. This is an ideal position for an engineer looking to gain valuable site experience and contribute directly to the physical realization of projects in Berkshire .

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise and manage all civil engineering aspects of construction projects on-site.
• Ensure work is carried out in accordance with contract drawings, specifications, and method statements.
• Monitor site activities for safety compliance and quality standards, implementing corrective actions as needed.
• Coordinate with subcontractors, suppliers, and site personnel to ensure smooth project progression.
• Conduct regular site inspections and prepare progress reports.
• Liaise with the design team to resolve any on-site queries or design modifications.

Requirements

• Degree or HND in Civil Engineering or a related construction discipline.
• At least 3 years of experience in a site engineering or construction management role.
• Familiarity with construction methodologies, site surveying, and setting out techniques.
• Good understanding of health and safety regulations on construction sites.
• Strong communication and leadership skills.
• Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage multiple site activities.
