Our client is at the forefront of the engineering sector. Sustained growth is the reason they have a new requirement for a Site Construction Manager.
The Role
- The Site Construction Manager vacancy is UK based with various project locations, requiring extensive travel.
- This role would suit someone that thrives in dynamic site environments, enjoys problem-solving and takes pride in delivering high-quality construction projects.
- You will play a key role in managing site operations related to the destruction, retrofitting and installation of engineering equipment.
- Your expertise ensures that project execution aligns with safety, quality and compliance standards, contributing to the successful delivery of upgrade solutions within industrial sectors.
- The person will take charge of planning and organizing site operations, ensuring projects align with business objectives and stay on schedule.
- Coordinate daily activities, conduct risk assessments and oversee safety documentation in compliance with CDM Regulations 2015.
- Additionally, you perform in-depth surveys and condition assessments of equipment.
- Leading on-site teams, including subcontractors, you ensure projects are executed to the highest standards while maintaining strict adherence to timelines and quality requirements.
- You oversee workmanship and material quality, implement inspection procedures and guarantee the availability of necessary resources, tools and safety equipment.
- Safety and compliance are the core of your role.
- You enforce health and safety protocols, conduct regular site inspections and ensure adherence to NEBOSH and IOSH standards. Any safety concerns are promptly addressed with corrective measures.
- Acting as the key liaison between clients, contractors, suppliers and internal teams, you facilitate clear communication and problem-solving to keep projects on track.
- You manage site challenges proactively, provide progress updates, and document safety audits and incidents.
- Beyond execution, you contribute to budget control and resource allocation while conducting detailed equipment assessments to support risk mitigation.
- You also ensure turnkey projects comply with NEC3 and NEC4 contracting standards, delivering high-quality engineering and construction solutions.
The Person
- Experience in site construction management, preferably within power generation or refining industries.
- HNC/D in Engineering, Project Management or Operations.
- Extensive knowledge of NEC3 and NEC4 construction contracts and CDM regulations.
- Proficiency in MS Office, MS Project and ERP systems (Epicor preferred).
- Experience in engineering principles, fabrication techniques and technical drawing interpretation.
- Strong knowledge of construction management processes and regulations.
- Ability to analyse site constraints and develop effective work plans.
- Familiarity with risk assessment methodologies and safety procedures.
- Strong leadership and team management abilities.
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines and work under pressure.
- High level of flexibility and adaptability in dynamic site environments.
- Effective communication and negotiation skills to manage diverse stakeholders.
- Willingness to travel extensively and work on-site for extended periods.
