Site Engineer

About the Role

Our client is seeking a diligent and technically proficient Site Engineer to join their construction team based in Southampton . You will be responsible for the technical aspects of the construction site, including setting out, interpreting drawings, and ensuring that the project is built to the correct specifications. This role requires a strong understanding of engineering principles and a hands-on approach to problem-solving on site. You will work closely with the Site Manager and other team members to ensure smooth project execution and high-quality outcomes, playing a vital role in the successful delivery of diverse construction projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Undertake setting out duties using appropriate surveying equipment and methods.
• Interpret engineering drawings, plans, and specifications to guide construction activities.
• Ensure the quality of work on site meets required standards and specifications.
• Assist in the planning and programming of construction activities.
• Manage site engineering resources, including personnel and equipment.
• Record site progress, resolve technical queries, and liaise with design teams.

Requirements

• Degree or HND in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
• Experience as a Site Engineer on construction projects.
• Proficiency in using surveying equipment (e.g., Total Station, GPS) and CAD software.
• Strong understanding of construction methods and materials.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
