Site Engineer

About the Role

Our client is seeking a diligent and technically proficient Site Engineer to join their construction team in Reading . You will be responsible for setting out, ensuring accurate construction, and managing site engineering activities to support the project’s technical requirements. This role is crucial for maintaining quality control, implementing engineering designs on-site, and ensuring that construction activities align with project specifications and drawings. You will work collaboratively with the site management team to ensure the successful execution of works in the Berkshire area and contribute to the overall project delivery.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform setting out duties using surveying equipment and interpret construction drawings.
• Ensure that construction activities are carried out to the required specifications and quality standards.
• Supervise and manage junior engineers and site personnel.
• Monitor site works, identify any discrepancies, and propose solutions.
• Maintain accurate records of site measurements, levels, and progress.
• Liaise with the project team, subcontractors, and stakeholders on technical matters.

Requirements

• Degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
• Previous experience as a Site Engineer or in a similar site-based engineering role.
• Proficiency in using surveying equipment (total stations, GPS) and relevant software.
• Understanding of construction methodologies, health and safety regulations.
• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
