Site Engineer

About the Role

Our client is seeking a dedicated and technically proficient Site Engineer to join their construction team in Portsmouth . You will be instrumental in ensuring that construction projects are executed according to design specifications, plans, and schedules. This role involves close collaboration with the site management team, subcontractors, and surveyors to maintain quality standards and resolve technical challenges on-site. The successful candidate will have a solid understanding of engineering principles and a hands-on approach to site operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise and manage all engineering and technical aspects of construction projects on-site.
• Interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to ensure work is carried out correctly.
• Conduct site surveys, measurements, and checks to verify progress and quality of work.
• Collaborate with the Project Manager and Site Manager to resolve any technical queries or site issues.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations on the construction site.
• Manage site logistics, including the delivery and storage of materials and equipment.

Requirements

• Degree or HND/HNC in Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Experience working as a Site Engineer or in a similar technical role on construction sites.
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting engineering drawings and specifications.
• Understanding of surveying techniques and equipment.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work effectively under pressure.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
