Site Engineer - Highways

Salary £30,000-£40,000 Location: Essex Project: Major Highways Infrastructure Scheme

The Opportunity We are currently recruiting for a Site Engineer to join a major highways infrastructure project in Essex. This is an excellent opportunity to become part of a significant infrastructure scheme, working alongside an experienced delivery team on a complex programme of highways improvements and civil engineering works. The successful candidate will play a key role in the engineering delivery of works on site, ensuring construction activities are completed safely, accurately and in accordance with project specifications.

Key Responsibilities

• Setting out and surveying for highways and civil engineering works.
• Ensuring works are delivered in accordance with drawings, specifications and construction requirements.
• Undertaking site surveys, levelling and dimensional control.
• Producing and maintaining accurate site records, including as-built information.
• Carrying out quality inspections and ensuring works meet required standards.
• Working closely with Site Agents, Section Engineers and subcontractors to coordinate daily activities.
• Monitoring progress and identifying any engineering issues that may affect programme delivery.
• Ensuring all works comply with health, safety and environmental requirements.

Requirements

• Previous experience as a Site Engineer within highways or civil engineering.
• Strong setting-out and surveying experience.
• Competent using engineering equipment and relevant software.
• Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications.
• Good understanding of construction processes and quality assurance.
• Relevant engineering qualification or equivalent industry experience.
