Site Engineer

About the Role

Our client is seeking a diligent and technically skilled Site Engineer to join a significant construction project in Reading . This role is critical for ensuring the accurate setting out of the works, managing site infrastructure, and maintaining quality control on a busy construction site. You will work closely with the site management team, subcontractors, and surveyors to implement the project design on the ground. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of surveying techniques, construction methods, and health and safety protocols, ensuring that all work is carried out to specification and in a safe manner.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform precise setting out of the works using surveying equipment and GPS technology.
• Ensure all construction activities comply with drawings, specifications, and health and safety regulations.
• Undertake quality checks and inspections of work in progress and completed elements.
• Manage site surveys, levels, and measurements, maintaining accurate records.
• Liaise with subcontractors to ensure their work is executed as per the project requirements.
• Assist in the management of site logistics, including temporary works and material delivery coordination.

Requirements

• Degree or HND in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
• Previous experience as a Site Engineer or Assistant Site Engineer on construction projects.
• Proficiency in using surveying equipment (e.g., Total Station, levels) and related software.
• Good understanding of construction methodologies and sequencing.
• Awareness of health and safety on construction sites.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
