About the Role
Our client is seeking a highly skilled Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) to join their infrastructure team in Reading . This role is pivotal in ensuring the performance, scalability, and reliability of our client's critical systems and applications. You will work at the intersection of development and operations, focusing on automating operations, building robust infrastructure, and proactively identifying and resolving potential issues. This hybrid role offers the opportunity to work on challenging problems in a collaborative environment, contributing to a seamless user experience for their global customer base.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain scalable and reliable infrastructure using infrastructure-as-code principles.
- Automate operational tasks, deployments, and monitoring processes.
- Implement and manage CI/CD pipelines for efficient software delivery.
- Monitor system performance, identify bottlenecks, and proactively resolve issues.
- Participate in incident response, post-mortems, and drive improvements to prevent recurrence.
- Collaborate with development teams to ensure software is designed for reliability and operability.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Site Reliability Engineer or in a similar DevOps role.
- Strong proficiency in at least one programming language (e.g., Python, Go, Java).
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).
- Solid understanding of networking, operating systems, and distributed systems.
- Experience with monitoring and logging tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack).
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
