The Opportunity

Our client is a global technology leader shaping the future of buildings through digitalisation, sustainability and innovation. They are looking for an experienced and inspiring Head of Sales to lead their Smart Buildings sales organisation and drive profitable growth across a multi-channel strategy covering products, solutions, software and digital services.

This is a key leadership position, responsible for defining and executing the sales strategy, strengthening customer and partner relationships, and helping the business capture opportunities in an increasingly digital, outcome-focused market. You will lead a national sales organisation of around 60 professionals across multiple sales functions.

Reporting to the Managing Director, you will deliver sustainable growth while leading the transformation of the sales organisation. You will develop direct and indirect market strategies to accelerate software and service growth, deepen customer engagement and drive operational excellence across every sales channel.

As buildings become more connected, autonomous and sustainable, this business is uniquely placed to lead the change. They need a commercial leader who can accelerate growth across software, digital services and lifecycle solutions, and strengthen their position as the partner of choice for customers investing in net-zero and smart building technologies.

Key Responsibilities

• Shape and execute the UK & Ireland Smart Buildings sales strategy, turning business vision into clear market priorities, go-to-market choices and actionable sales plans

• Lead the end-to-end sales organisation, with clear accountability for profitable growth

• Develop and optimise the multi-channel go-to-market model, balancing direct sales, enterprise customers, vertical-led selling and the partner ecosystem

• Build senior customer relationships, positioning the business as a long-term partner on building, energy, sustainability and digital transformation priorities

• Accelerate the shift towards higher-value and recurring revenue, growing software, digital services and lifecycle solutions alongside the established portfolio

• Drive sales execution and commercial discipline, from pipeline quality and forecasting to conversion and performance against growth and profitability targets

About You

• Proven experience leading a sizeable sales organisation within a product, solutions, services or technology-driven business, preferably within a Smart Buildings environment.

• A strong track record of developing and implementing commercial strategies that deliver growth, with a good understanding of direct and indirect routes to market

• A collaborative leader who can build, motivate and develop high-performing teams, with experience of leading sales transformation

• Demonstrated success in customer engagement, contract negotiation and strategic account management

• Strong business planning, forecasting and performance management skills

• Knowledge of the building technologies and/or energy market, with a genuine passion for digitalisation, sustainability and innovation
