About the Role
Our client is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Social Worker to join their Children's Services team in Leicester . This pivotal role involves safeguarding vulnerable children and young people, providing essential support to families, and working collaboratively with partner agencies to ensure positive outcomes. You will be instrumental in assessing needs, developing care plans, and intervening effectively to protect children from harm, contributing to a supportive and dynamic team environment focused on child well-being.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive assessments of children and families' needs, identifying risks and protective factors.
- Develop, implement, and review personalized care plans to support children's development and safety.
- Work in partnership with other professionals, including health services, education, and police, to provide coordinated support.
- Prepare court reports and attend legal proceedings as required to advocate for the child's best interests.
- Provide emotional and practical support to children and families experiencing complex challenges.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date case records in line with statutory requirements and organisational policies.
Requirements
- Relevant degree in Social Work (e.g., BA, BSc) or equivalent qualification.
- Professional registration with Social Work England or eligibility to register.
- Previous experience working within a statutory children's social care setting.
- Thorough understanding of relevant legislation, policies, and procedures pertaining to child protection.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and report-writing skills.
- Ability to manage a complex caseload and work effectively under pressure.
