Our client is seeking a dedicated and proficient Software Developer with expertise in Java Enterprise Edition to join their thriving IT and Software team in Stoke-on-Trent . This role is instrumental in designing, developing, and maintaining robust enterprise-level applications that power our client's core business operations. You will collaborate with a talented team of engineers, architects, and analysts to deliver high-quality, scalable, and maintainable software solutions. Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, and deploy high-quality enterprise applications using Java EE technologies.
- Write clean, efficient, well-documented, and maintainable code following best practices and coding standards.
- Participate in code reviews, providing constructive feedback to peers and ensuring adherence to architectural guidelines.
- Collaborate with business analysts and stakeholders to understand requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
- Troubleshoot, debug, and upgrade existing software systems, ensuring optimal performance and reliability.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of development processes and the adoption of new technologies.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 3+ years of professional experience in Java software development, with a strong understanding of Java EE concepts.
- Proficiency in core Java, Spring framework (Spring Boot, Spring MVC), and related technologies.
- Experience with relational databases (e.g., SQL Server, Oracle, PostgreSQL) and ORM frameworks (e.g., Hibernate).
- Familiarity with web services (RESTful APIs) and messaging queues (e.g., JMS, Kafka).
- Understanding of version control systems (Git) and agile development methodologies.
