About the Role
Our client is seeking a proactive and experienced Solar Project Developer to join their dedicated team in Manchester . This role is essential for identifying, securing, and advancing new solar energy projects from conception through to financial close. You will be instrumental in expanding our client's renewable energy footprint across the North West of England and beyond. This position requires a hands-on approach, working closely with landowners, local authorities, and internal technical teams to bring impactful solar developments to fruition.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify and assess potential sites for new solar farm developments, including evaluating grid connection feasibility and planning constraints.
- Negotiate land agreements and secure all necessary permits and consents for project construction.
- Develop robust business cases and financial projections for prospective solar projects.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including landowners, local government, and community groups.
- Liaise closely with engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) partners throughout the project lifecycle.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as Renewable Energy, Environmental Science, Geography, or Business.
- Demonstrated experience in renewable energy project development, particularly within the solar sector.
- Strong understanding of the UK planning system and environmental regulations related to energy projects.
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Familiarity with grid connection processes and energy market mechanisms in the UK.
