Our client is seeking a creative and technically adept Solar PV Design Engineer to join their expanding team in Cambridge . You will be responsible for designing state-of-the-art solar photovoltaic systems for a variety of applications, from domestic installations to large-scale commercial projects. This role involves utilising cutting-edge software and adhering to industry best practices to deliver efficient and reliable solar energy solutions. Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop detailed plans for solar PV systems , including system sizing, component selection, and electrical schematics.
- Utilise industry-standard design software (e.g., PVSyst, AutoCAD) to create accurate and optimised system layouts.
- Conduct site assessments and feasibility studies for potential solar PV projects.
- Ensure all designs comply with relevant building regulations, electrical standards, and health and safety requirements.
- Collaborate with sales, project management, and installation teams to ensure seamless project delivery.
- Prepare technical documentation, including performance reports and installation guides.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Renewable Energy, or a related technical field.
- Proven experience in designing solar PV systems .
- Proficiency with solar design software and CAD tools.
- Strong understanding of solar panel technology, inverters, and mounting systems.
- Knowledge of UK regulations and standards related to solar installations.
