Solar PV Installation Engineer

About the Role

Our client is looking for a competent Solar PV Installation Engineer to join their expanding team in Leeds . This role focuses on the practical installation and technical support of photovoltaic (PV) systems for residential and commercial clients. You will be responsible for ensuring that solar energy systems are installed safely, efficiently, and to the highest standards, directly contributing to the adoption of clean energy solutions. The ideal candidate will possess strong electrical and mounting skills, a keen eye for detail, and a commitment to delivering excellent customer service throughout the installation process.

Key Responsibilities

• Install, test, and commission solar photovoltaic (PV) systems on various roof types and ground-mounted structures.
• Perform electrical wiring, connection of inverters, and integration with existing electrical systems.
• Conduct site assessments to determine optimal system design and placement.
• Ensure all installations comply with current electrical regulations (e.g., BS 7671) and manufacturer guidelines.
• Troubleshoot and resolve any technical issues that arise during or after installation.
• Provide basic system orientation and handover information to clients.

Requirements

• Qualified Electrician with a relevant certification (e.g., City & Guilds 2330, 2357, 18th Edition).
• Proven experience in the installation of solar PV systems .
• Familiarity with different types of solar panels, inverters, and mounting hardware.
• Understanding of health and safety practices relevant to working at height and with electrical systems.
• Good communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
