Solar PV Installation Engineer

About the Role

Our client is looking for a dedicated and skilled Solar PV Installation Engineer to join their expanding team in Portsmouth . This hands-on role involves the safe and efficient installation of photovoltaic (PV) solar systems on residential, commercial, and industrial properties. You will be responsible for ensuring all installations meet the highest standards of quality, safety, and regulatory compliance. Key Responsibilities

• Install solar photovoltaic (PV) panels, inverters, mounting systems, and associated electrical equipment on various roof types and ground mounts.
• Perform electrical wiring and connections, ensuring compliance with all relevant electrical codes and standards.
• Conduct system testing and commissioning to verify proper operation and performance.
• Identify and resolve any installation issues or technical challenges encountered on-site.
• Ensure a clean and safe work environment for yourself, your team, and the client's property.
• Educate clients on their new solar PV system's operation and maintenance.

Requirements

• Proven experience in solar PV installation or electrical installation.
• Relevant electrical qualification (e.g., NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation) or equivalent experience.
• Good understanding of electrical theory, wiring practices, and safety procedures.
• Ability to work effectively in a team and independently, with strong attention to detail.
• Proficiency in using hand and power tools required for installation.
• Valid driving license and willingness to travel to different installation sites in and around Portsmouth .
