Solar PV Installation Supervisor

About the Role

Our client is seeking a skilled and motivated Solar PV Installation Supervisor to oversee photovoltaic system installations in the Southampton area. You will lead a team of technicians, ensuring that all solar panel installations are completed safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards. This role requires hands-on experience, strong leadership skills, and a thorough understanding of electrical systems and solar technology. You will be responsible for site management, quality control, and ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations and safety protocols. This is a hands-on role critical to expanding clean energy infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise and guide a team of solar installation technicians on residential and commercial projects.
• Ensure all installations are performed safely, adhering to company policies and industry best practices for electrical work and working at heights.
• Conduct pre-installation site assessments to verify design specifications and identify any potential challenges.
• Oversee the correct mounting of solar panels, inverters, and associated electrical equipment.
• Perform quality checks throughout the installation process and conduct final inspections before project sign-off.
• Manage on-site logistics, including material handling and waste disposal, ensuring a clean and organized worksite.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a solar PV installer or team leader, with a strong understanding of PV systems.
• Relevant electrical qualifications (e.g., NVQ Level 2/3 in Electrotechnical Services or equivalent).
• Experience supervising installation teams and managing site operations.
• Knowledge of health and safety regulations pertaining to electrical installations and construction sites.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot installation issues.
• Excellent communication and leadership abilities.
