About the Role
Our client is seeking a talented and driven Sous Chef to support the Head Chef in delivering exceptional catering services for events across Birmingham . You will play a crucial role in the day-to-day operations of the kitchen, assisting with menu creation, food preparation, team supervision, and maintaining quality standards. Key Responsibilities
- Assist the Head Chef in menu development, recipe testing, and implementing new culinary ideas.
- Supervise kitchen staff during service, ensuring efficient workflow and high standards of food preparation and presentation.
- Manage stock control, inventory, and ordering of ingredients, ensuring optimal levels and minimizing waste.
- Maintain strict adherence to food hygiene, health, and safety regulations in all kitchen activities.
- Prepare and cook a range of dishes to the highest standards, stepping in as needed to cover various kitchen stations.
- Contribute to a positive and productive kitchen environment through effective communication and teamwork.
Requirements
- Previous experience as a Sous Chef or a strong Senior Chef de Partie looking to step up.
- Proficiency in various cooking techniques and a good understanding of different cuisines.
- Experience in a high-volume catering or restaurant environment.
- Solid knowledge of food safety, HACCP, and kitchen hygiene practices.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and as part of a team.
