Sous Chef - Catering Department

About the Role

Our client is looking for a talented and dedicated Sous Chef to join their bustling catering department in Liverpool . As a key member of the culinary team, you will assist the Head Chef in all aspects of kitchen management, food preparation, and menu execution for a variety of catering events. This role requires a strong culinary background, excellent leadership potential, and the ability to work efficiently under pressure. You will be involved in mentoring junior chefs, maintaining kitchen standards, and ensuring the consistent delivery of high-quality dishes that delight clients and guests.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist the Head Chef in planning menus and overseeing daily kitchen operations.
• Prepare and cook high-quality dishes according to recipes and standards, ensuring consistency.
• Supervise and train junior kitchen staff, providing guidance and support.
• Manage inventory, stock rotation, and ordering of ingredients to minimize waste and control costs.
• Ensure the kitchen is kept clean, organized, and compliant with all health and safety regulations.
• Contribute to menu development and innovative culinary ideas for upcoming events.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Sous Chef or a Senior Chef de Partie within a professional kitchen environment, ideally with catering experience.
• Strong culinary skills and a passion for creating delicious, well-presented food.
• Ability to manage and motivate a kitchen team effectively.
• Good understanding of food safety regulations and best practices.
• Excellent organizational skills and the ability to work calmly and efficiently during busy periods.
