Our client is seeking a talented and ambitious Sous Chef to support the Head Chef in delivering an exceptional fine-dining experience in Birmingham . You will work closely with the Head Chef on menu development, team management, and ensuring the highest standards of food quality and presentation are consistently met. Key Responsibilities
- Assist the Head Chef in all aspects of kitchen management, including menu planning, food preparation, and execution.
- Supervise and mentor junior kitchen staff, ensuring they adhere to recipes and cooking standards.
- Manage inventory, stock control, and ordering of ingredients to maintain quality and control costs.
- Maintain immaculate kitchen hygiene and ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations.
- Deputize for the Head Chef in their absence, maintaining smooth kitchen operations.
- Contribute creative ideas for menu specials and seasonal adaptations.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Senior Chef de Partie or Sous Chef in a high-quality restaurant or hotel.
- Strong understanding of classical and contemporary cooking techniques.
- Excellent team leadership and communication skills.
- Proficiency in kitchen administration, including stocktaking and cost control.
- Passion for culinary excellence and a keen eye for detail in presentation.
- Relevant culinary qualifications are desirable.
