About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Sous Chef to support the Head Chef in a prestigious fine dining establishment in Stoke-on-Trent . This role is crucial in maintaining the restaurant's reputation for culinary excellence, contributing to menu development, and ensuring the smooth running of the kitchen. Key Responsibilities

• Assist the Head Chef in all aspects of kitchen management, including food preparation, cooking, and presentation.
• Supervise and mentor junior kitchen staff, ensuring high standards of performance and adherence to recipes and techniques.
• Contribute to menu planning, recipe development, and specials, focusing on seasonal ingredients and innovative dishes.
• Manage inventory, stock rotation, and ordering of ingredients, ensuring quality and cost-effectiveness.
• Maintain strict adherence to food safety, hygiene, and health regulations within the kitchen.
• Ensure consistency and quality of all dishes leaving the kitchen, especially during busy service periods.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Sous Chef or strong Senior Chef de Partie experience in a fine dining or high-quality restaurant.
• Exceptional culinary skills, creativity, and a deep understanding of cooking techniques and flavor profiles.
• Strong leadership and team management capabilities.
• Proficiency in kitchen hygiene and food safety standards.
• Ability to work efficiently under pressure and maintain high standards of output.
