About the Role
Our client is seeking a talented and dedicated Sous Chef to join their vibrant culinary team in Edinburgh . As a key member of the kitchen brigade, you will work closely with the Head Chef to oversee daily operations, contribute to menu development, and ensure the consistent preparation and presentation of high-quality dishes. Key Responsibilities
- Assist the Head Chef in daily kitchen operations, including food preparation, cooking, and plating.
- Supervise and mentor junior kitchen staff, providing guidance and training on cooking techniques and standards.
- Contribute to menu planning, recipe development, and specials creation, ensuring creativity and quality.
- Maintain strict adherence to food safety regulations , hygiene standards, and kitchen best practices.
- Manage inventory, assist with ordering supplies, and control food costs effectively.
- Ensure all dishes are prepared to the highest standard of quality and presentation, meeting customer expectations.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Sous Chef or in a senior role within a busy kitchen environment.
- Strong culinary skills with expertise in various cooking methods and cuisines.
- Good knowledge of food hygiene and health and safety regulations.
- Excellent leadership and team management abilities.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage time efficiently.
