About the Role

Key Responsibilities

• Assist the Head Chef in menu planning, recipe development, and daily food preparation.
• Oversee kitchen operations during service, ensuring consistent quality and presentation.
• Manage and mentor junior kitchen staff, providing training and fostering a collaborative team spirit.
• Maintain strict adherence to food safety, hygiene, and sanitation standards.
• Control stock, manage inventory, and assist with food costings and ordering.
• Contribute to creating a positive and efficient kitchen environment that upholds the restaurant's reputation.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Sous Chef or a strong Senior Chef de Partie with leadership potential.
• A passion for modern British cuisine and a commitment to using fresh, seasonal ingredients.
• Excellent understanding of kitchen management, including food preparation techniques and hygiene standards.
• Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
• Ability to perform well under pressure in a demanding kitchen environment in Portsmouth .
• Relevant culinary qualifications are desirable.
