About the Role

Our client is looking for a skilled and motivated Sous Chef to join their bustling kitchen team in Leeds . As the second in command, you will work closely with the Head Chef to manage daily kitchen operations, oversee food preparation, and ensure the highest standards of culinary excellence are maintained. This role is perfect for an ambitious chef seeking to further develop their leadership skills and contribute to a dynamic dining environment. You will play a crucial part in maintaining consistency, quality, and creativity in all dishes served.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist the Head Chef in all aspects of kitchen management, including food preparation, cooking, and plating.
• Supervise and mentor junior kitchen staff, ensuring tasks are completed efficiently and to standard.
• Contribute to menu planning, recipe development, and the creation of daily specials.
• Maintain strict adherence to food safety , hygiene, and sanitation standards in all kitchen areas.
• Manage inventory, stock rotation, and ordering of supplies, ensuring cost-effectiveness and minimal waste.
• Ensure consistent quality and presentation of all dishes, upholding the restaurant's reputation.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Sous Chef or Senior Chef de Partie in a reputable establishment.
• Strong culinary skills with a broad knowledge of cooking techniques and ingredients.
• Excellent leadership and team management abilities.
• Familiarity with food cost control and inventory management.
• A commitment to maintaining high standards of hygiene and workplace safety.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-pressure kitchen environment in Leeds .
