About the Role
Our client is seeking a talented and motivated Sous Chef to support the Head Chef in managing the kitchen operations for a busy catering service in Birmingham . You will play a crucial role in daily food preparation, ensuring consistent quality, and assisting with menu planning and staff supervision. Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook high-quality dishes according to established recipes and standards.
- Assist the Head Chef with menu development, costing, and supplier liaison.
- Supervise and guide junior kitchen staff during service periods.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization within the kitchen, adhering to all hygiene regulations.
- Manage inventory, assist with stocktaking, and ensure efficient use of ingredients.
- Deputize for the Head Chef in their absence, ensuring smooth kitchen operations.
Requirements
- Previous experience as a Sous Chef or a strong Senior Chef de Partie ready for promotion.
- Proficiency in a range of cooking techniques and a good understanding of food safety protocols.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage time efficiently.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills for team collaboration.
- A keen eye for detail and commitment to maintaining high standards of food quality.
