Special Educational Needs Coordinator (SENCO)

About the Role

Our client is seeking an experienced and compassionate Special Educational Needs Coordinator (SENCO) to take a lead role in their inclusive primary school in Bradford . This vital position involves overseeing the provision for students with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND), ensuring they receive the appropriate support to achieve their full potential. You will work closely with teachers, parents, external agencies, and the senior leadership team to develop and implement effective SEND strategies and policies, fostering an environment where every child feels valued and supported.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and monitor the school's SEND policy and provision.
• Co-ordinate the identification and assessment of students with SEND.
• Liaise with parents, teachers, and external support services to ensure a collaborative approach to SEND support.
• Provide guidance and training to staff on SEND best practices and legal requirements.
• Maintain accurate records and contribute to the review of SEND provision within the school.

Requirements

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with a strong understanding of primary education.
• National Award for SEN Coordination (or willingness to obtain).
• Proven experience in supporting students with a range of SEND.
• Excellent knowledge of current SEND legislation and best practices.
• Strong leadership, communication, and organisational skills.
