About the Role

Our client is seeking a dedicated and highly organized Special Educational Needs Coordinator (SENCO) to join their inclusive educational setting, operating remotely. This crucial role involves overseeing the provision for students with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND), ensuring they receive the appropriate support to thrive academically and personally. You will work collaboratively with teachers, parents, and external agencies to develop and implement effective SEND strategies, promoting an inclusive learning environment for all. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of SEND frameworks and a passion for advocating for the needs of every student, working from home to coordinate these vital services.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate the implementation of the Special Educational Needs (SEN) policy and provision across the school.
• Manage the identification, assessment, and monitoring of students with SEND, developing individual support plans (ISPs).
• Liaise effectively with parents, carers, teachers, and external professionals (e.g., educational psychologists, therapists) to ensure coordinated support.
• Provide guidance and training to teaching staff on effective strategies for supporting students with diverse learning needs.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all students with SEND, including Education, Health, and Care (EHC) plans.
• Stay current with national legislation, guidance, and best practices related to SEND.

Requirements

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent, with a recognized SENCO qualification or willingness to obtain one.
• Proven experience working with students with a range of Special Educational Needs and disabilities.
• In-depth knowledge of the SEND Code of Practice and relevant legal frameworks.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
• Ability to work autonomously and manage multiple priorities in a remote setting.
