About the Role

Our client is seeking a dedicated and empathetic Special Educational Needs Coordinator (SENCO) to join their inclusive school in Milton Keynes . This vital role focuses on ensuring that students with special educational needs receive the tailored support required to thrive academically, socially, and emotionally. You will work closely with students, parents, teachers, and external agencies to develop and implement effective support strategies. Key Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and monitor the school's SEND policy and provision, ensuring compliance with national legislation.
• Liaise with parents/carers to ensure they are involved in their child's learning and to address any concerns.
• Coordinate the day-to-day operation of the SEND support within the school, including the management of support staff.
• Provide guidance and training to teaching staff on supporting students with diverse learning needs.
• Maintain accurate records of students with SEND and oversee the assessment and review process for Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs).

Requirements

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
• Completion of the National Award for SEN Coordination or willingness to undertake it.
• Significant experience working with children with a range of special educational needs.
• In-depth knowledge of SEND legislation and best practices in inclusive education.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organisational skills, with a sensitive and patient approach.
