About the Role

Our client is seeking an experienced and dedicated Special Educational Needs Coordinator (SENCO) to lead their SEND provision in a thriving primary school located in Bristol . This crucial role involves overseeing the school's approach to supporting students with special educational needs and disabilities, ensuring they receive the appropriate provision to achieve their full potential. You will work collaboratively with teachers, parents, external agencies, and senior leadership to develop and implement effective SEND strategies. Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the school's SEND provision, ensuring compliance with legal requirements and best practices.
• Develop and implement the school's SEND policy and strategy in collaboration with senior leadership.
• Support teachers in identifying, assessing, and meeting the needs of students with SEND.
• Liaise with parents, carers, and external agencies (e.g., educational psychologists, health services) to coordinate support.
• Maintain accurate records and documentation related to SEND provision and individual student progress.
• Provide training and guidance to school staff on SEND matters.

Requirements

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent, with significant experience in a teaching role.
• Completion of or willingness to undertake the National Award for Special Educational Needs Coordination.
• In-depth knowledge of the SEND Code of Practice and relevant legislation.
• Experience in developing and implementing SEND policies and strategies.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
