About the Role
Our client is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Special Educational Needs (SEN) Teaching Assistant to provide crucial support within a primary school in Bradford . This role is integral to ensuring that students with diverse learning needs receive the tailored assistance required to thrive academically and socially. You will work closely with teachers and SEN coordinators to implement individual education plans, facilitate classroom participation, and foster a positive and inclusive learning environment. Key Responsibilities
- Provide one-to-one or small group support to students with identified special educational needs.
- Assist in the implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and behaviour management strategies.
- Support students in accessing the curriculum and participating fully in classroom activities.
- Help to create a safe, stimulating, and inclusive learning environment.
- Liaise with teachers, parents, and external specialists to share information and support student progress.
Requirements
- Previous experience working with children, preferably in a school or SEN setting.
- A good understanding of child development and different types of special educational needs.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Patience, empathy, and a proactive approach to supporting students.
- Relevant qualifications such as NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Supporting Teaching and Learning are desirable.
